I think I went viral on TikTok

So… I started a TikTok account literally 2 weeks ago.

I resisted for a long time. I was on Instagram—barely active anyway—and on my beloved Pinterest, sometimes creeping around on Tumblr. That was enough social media for me.

But then comes the nature of my job… Creative Director. And, as much as I wish I didn’t need to, it’s important for me to keep up with trends and what’s happening out there. So, as a 2026 resolution, I decided to get on TikTok and, you know, play around.

I knew nothing, and still know nothing about the platform. Trends seem to appear and disappear overnight; you must have a “niche,” apparently, and it’s all a lot of “un-aesthetic” nonsense.

But, as resolutions go, I started posting—mostly nonsense—hopped on a trend, and then, five days ago, late on Friday night, I decided to make a slideshow post (the laziest post you can imagine) with some of our wedding pictures. You know, these ones. And… well, it blew up.

I really didn’t expect it. When it hit 10K views, I was like, “Wow, what’s going on?” And the views, likes, and comments just kept going. By Sunday, we were at 400K. That’s when I told Daiki…

He doesn’t like being online, and he already makes sure I keep this little blog under the radar lol. So when I told him—and it was already at 500K—he couldn’t believe it.

As of now, it’s at 1.1 million. More than the population of Luxembourg! (I know, it’s a small country, but still—a country!)

So here we are, staying on TikTok and… having fun, I guess.
